From San Diego to Salvation Mountain

Salvation Mountain

After the christening of our convertible at the Chrystal Cathedral I (not we) decided to stop make a quick stop at San Diego to drop off John at the San Diego Zoo. About half a year ago (just around the time when I talked John into making the USA trip) they offered me some major cash if I was able to deliver them a specimen of the so called stupidsunnovabich species. And for those of you who’ve met John… ;-) Anywho, the pet owners amongst you know that pets have a so called sixth sense when a trip to the veterinarian is involved. So when I made the suggestion we go and visit the zoo, John adamantly refused. Even the prospect of an icecream and a little one on one time with a polar bear couldn’t shake his resolve.

Since my money making ploy didn’t succeed we both left San Diego to go to Joshua Tree National Park, home of the waddayaknow… Joshua Tree. It was there that I really got a taste of John’s mental state.
There are times when you need to let the images speak for themselves. I guess this is one of those times, so just check out the movie below.

Me being the nice guy that I am ;-) I decided to help John get rid of his crazy-devils. Therefore, our next stop was Salvation Mountain, home of Leonard Knight who found his salvation by building himself (over a period of twenty something years time) an adobe mountain on which he painted anything from biblical quotes to the yellow brick road to flowers. It was there that John, hallelujah praise the lord, got saved and we were able to resume are trip in high spirits.

Author’s note: the above story is, of course, part fiction; I would NEVER go to a zoo!!! ;-)

  2. Hi guys,
Alles ok daar?
